Engineering Design Group/EDG2 is an AABC Commissioning Group, ACG Certified, full service commissioning company capable of providing joint design and commissioning services or independent 3rd party commissioning services. At EDG2 we understand that reliability is directly proportional to maintenance. Our reliability studies show that reliability can drop by a factor of 10 if routine maintenance is not performed bi-annually. Our belief is that all major pieces of equipment need to be fully tested during the construction cycle of a facility and should be fully re-tested at least once a year to help ensure that the equipment will perform to its design specification.
Our services include comprehensive planning and implementation to commission and testing all electrical and mechanical facility equipment, and take the following into account: master construction schedule, safety, start-up, training, recommended maintenance program, and close-out. Our knowledgeable staff of LEED certified engineers is capable of providing LEED accredited commissioning services.
We will work with the design and construction teams to document the intent of the owner and ensure that the owner’s intent is carried out throughout the Five (5) Phases of the Commissioning process. By having experienced people in the field, we will be able to aid the designers, contractors, and vendors in delivering a quality product the first time and minimize the time and budget impacts commonly experienced on complex projects.

CyrusOne Houston Data Hall 10-11Provided Commissioning services for CyrusOne’s Houston West facility, Data Halls 10 & 11. The Project was comprised commissioning eight 750 kVA UPS systems, twelve static switch PDUs, and twelve CRAH units, the EPMS systems, the BMS system, and miscellaneous power and mechanical systems.
Engineering Design Group was tasked with developing a commissioning plan to verify that all building systems performed interactively according to the design intent and the specified operational improvements. This included verifying that all systems met the requirements of an Tier 2 (N+1) Data Center. Responsibilities included overseeing and coordination of the traditionally separate functions of the equipment startup, functional performance testing, integrated systems testing, including "Pull the Plug" testing, and generating a final commissioning report based upon these tests. |
COPT-DC6Engineering Design Group provided design and commissioning services for COPT DC-6. This 200,000 gross sf, 100,000 raised sf data center is located in Manassas, Virginia. The building is a two-story structure, strategically designed to allow tenants to add additional power and cooling capacity over the life of their lease without disruption to the raised floor environment.
The facility is a Tier III Fault Tolerant™ and Change Tolerant™ data center with an innovative electrical and mechanical infrastructure design with 300 W/sf. PROJECT SUMMARY
